I barely made it to the 50% mark I hadn't realized the heroine was a 19 year old who believed herself to be in love with her brother's best friend I thought I could stomach the fluffy cuteness of a man lured to his best friend's house for the holidays by a fake note that the blurb promises but it turns out I can't So I give up For everyone else this might be just the thing but I didn't feel a connection to the two and it honestly creeped me out a bit that a grown man was attracted to someone who to me seemed incredibly silly and immature

Short and sweetA fun little read It didn't have any sex in it and that was good because Emma for as sweet as she was was very immature Heath seemed years older than her but I suppose men grew up faster than girls back then Her twin Isabel seemed a lot mature I liked the players Lockwell Lord and Lady Norland and the Duke of Danby even Mason as silly as he wasThere was some sexual attraction on Heath's part and I was surprised that his cck was mentioned 1 time It seemed out of placeOverall it was a cute story and I did enjoy it Even though there was no sex which is usually in all my reading material it was still a sweet story

I read this novella not realizing that it was included in a set I had also gotten This was the best story It is a clean love story about a young woman who has had a crush on her older brothers best friend all her life Since her brother is coming home to see them at his grandfather's castle she takes advantage of the situation She sends a message to Heath asking him to keep him from being bored by also coming for a Christmas visit Heath brings along a friend and soon all kinds of fun begins as a family and friends gather for Christmas and perhaps I just wish it had been longer Charming story thoughloved the characters

A Counterfeit Christmas Summons by Ava Stone is a 2013 Night Shift publishing regency novella I picked this one up a week or so ago for free in the kindle store Emma has been in love with Viscount Heathfield most of her life Heath is a close friend of her brother Drew But Drew hasn't been inclined to concern himself with Emma's love life so she takes matters into her own hands by inviting Heath to visit Drew The catch is she makes the letter look as though Drew was the one doing the inviting Drew isn't even at the castle and knows nothing about any letterHeath is mystified when he receives a summons to visit Drew The tone of the letter and the language didn't sound like Drew But he decides to make the journey and bring along a companionUpon arrival at the castle Heath begins putting two and two togetherI enjoyed this light hearted regency romance A comedy of mix ups and misunderstandings bring two people together who were meant to beThe only complaint for me was that it was just too short making things feels a little too rushed I often feel that way with novellas and short stories so it may just be me I still enjoyed the book and recommend it for a holiday read to those that enjoy historical romances This is a really fun readOverall this one is an A

Lady Emma Whitton has been in love with her brother's best friend Viscount Heathfield for as long as she can remember unfortunately he never seemed to notice her After spending a decade with just memories of his handsome face and kindness and two Seasons with nary a sight of him in town Emma decides to take matters into her own hands and writes him an invitation to her grandfather's estate for Christmas The only problem she signs it with her brother's nameViscount Heathfield doesn't know what made him answer the invitation to Christmas in Yorkshire especially since he knew that the summons couldn't have been from Drew From the moment he arrived though he found himself swept up in the lively chaos and drawn to the all too grown up Lady Emma the person whom he very much suspects had a hand in bringing him to Danby CastleAs the very first story in the Danby Novella Anthologies A COUNTERFEIT CHRISTMAS SUMMONS proved to be the bait that caught everyone's attention Funny lively and full of good old fashioned romance this story spins you around and makes you pray that all of the stories in the anthology are just as clever and inviting What a set up

I really enjoyed this short novella It takes place in Yorkshire in 1812 The heroine Lady Emma Whitton and her twin are fun characters They're young full of life with just the right amount of spunk for this time period There are some clever laugh out loud moments that make this a great lighthearted readI received this book for free during a special promotion and the cover is what pulled me in to find out I have never read anything by Ava Stone before this but I will now because of this novellaA perfect read for anyone who loves house party style gatherings It's the type of romance I would read at any time of year not just during the holidays

Read it againThis was the first of Ava Stone's books that I had read and I originally read it over a year ago Now that I've finished the Scandalous series I decided to read it again It's every bit as good as I rememberedEmma has loved Heath her entire life but he hasn't visited the family estate in a decade After searching for him for 2 seasons she decides to take matters into her own hands This character knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go out and get it But Heath has been betrothed since he was a child That doesn't stop him from falling under her spell the moment he sets eyes on her Whatever will they do?
