Book OMG Am I a Witch?Author Talia Aikens NunezPublication Date 872014Reviewed by Tammy Payne Book Nook Nuts My Rating 5 Stars REVIEW This is a new to me Author What an Adorable bookIn this book we have April a young girl who has had enough of her brothers bullying towards her One day she finds a spell on the internet and recites the words turning him into a fluffy little dog She feels horrible though after it has been done and with the help of her friends she tries her best to find the spell to change him back I think this is a very cute book for kids perhaps age 7 and up They can learn about bullying as well as being caring to their siblings To me that is the moral of this story It is not a creepy scary book so children will enjoy it Very well written and I would definitely recommend it I am even going to suggest it to my older daughters to get it for my grandsons I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review OMG Am I A Witch?

This is a cute children's book about a girl who turned her older and annoying brother into a dog She finds she has powers and the adventure is all about getting her brother turned back into his annoying self The book is aimed at 8 12 year oldsI had my eye out for books I thought my little cousin might enjoy She really loves reading and I thought the premise of the book was cute She doesn't have an older brother but a younger sister but I think she could still identify with the main characterThe book itself has a bit of a problem with pacing The dialog keeps going back over the same thing but as a kid I think they might like that It is also short so there is no mention as to how April got her powers or why She also doesn't really grow from the experience but she does have a conscience and feels bad about what happenedOne of the things I really did love about this book are the tiny illustrations that accompany each chapter I think that was probably my favorite part of the book I just had to make a mention of themI recommend this book to young grade school kids I think they would get a kick out of a kid who suddenly finds herself with magical powers

Super cute uick chapter book about a young girl who suddenly learns she has witchy powers because she accidentally turned her brother into a dogApril Appleton and her friends Grace and Eve must do everything they can to try to turn her brother back into a human before her parents find out what's really going on I think elementary and lower middle grade readers will adore this book It's only 150 pages long and consists of short non intimidating chapters Each chapter ends in a sort of suspenseful way and I know that will keep pages turning uicklyAs an adult I read this in one sitting and found it very sweet There were only a couple of things I wished the book would have included April's age and how she came to get her witch powers Maybe there will be April Appleton books to explain this? There were several funny moments that I know will have younger readers cracking up such as April trying to keep her doggy brother from peeing in her backpack and the yucky potion she has to drink All in all I thought this was a nice middle grade endeavor and I would definitely read from this author

What a cute story April has had enough of her brother and accidentally turns him into a dog Not only does she have to find away to reverse this mishap but she must figure out how in the world it happened in the first place I and my son yep I actually read this with my 8 yr old son enjoyed following April and her friends through this silly and fun adventure The characters are realistic modern girls and it was fun to 'listen' to their dialogue which sometimes steers suddenly from course as kids that age do and see their dealings with parents and co Although I thought the parents might be a bit silly that they didn't realize their son was missing my son didn't see it this way He thought April and her friends were simply doing a terrific job in hiding and maneuvering things As the intended age group he should knowOur only problem was simply where the story starts We both felt it jumped in a little too uick and would have liked to experience the transformation how funny that must have beenBut outside of this we both enjoyed the book and can only recommend it

OMGAm I a Witch? is a really cute middle grade story One day on the bus April's annoying older brother pushes her too far and she turns him into a dog using a spell she read off the Internet She enlists her friends to help her try to reverse the spell before her parents find out Austin is now a dogOne of the things that I liked about the book was how April begins to realize that even though her brother annoys her he does care about her He has defended her before and taken care of her when she was sick I think that is a great message to send The only thing I wish the book had was an explanation as to why April suddenly has powers I felt like that wasn't explored enough I'm not sure if this is going to be a series or not If so maybe a second book could explain her powersThe book is short and is sprinkled with adorable illustrations I think girls will fall in love with Austin is a puppy He was very cute This book would be perfect for any reader 4th grade and up I know my 10 year old daughter would probably enjoy this book

This was the first book I ever one in a Goodreads giveaway That was exciting enough to start out the journey of this book Unfortunately I think it was a little ahead of my child who just started 2nd grade when we got this book She still wants way pictures but I think this will be a great book by the end of the year and into 3rd grade or an avid reader We did read the first few chapters and it was already sounding like a great book I am giving it 4 stars on our initial read and the amount that my child was already loving it I can't wait for the time when she wants to pick it up again and read it all the way through
