This was not a very good guide not comprehensive and only mentioned a few different ailments to treat I have used and seen much better herbal books than this Research was uoted but not cited well to be able to find it again some of the sections on specific herbs seemed sadly incomplete and lacking vital information It gets two stars because it does have some useful info but by no means as much as there should be

Herbal Remedies A Z gives a wide variety of herbs listed alphabetical order for easy reference It tells of the uses for each herb gives directions how to use such as a tea or to rub it on A brief history is given with the country where it was originally used which I found most interesting As a retired woman over the new age of retirement in the US of 66 I take only two pills from a medical doctor as I have no other problems reuiring drugs For all of my adult life I have taken herbs or used them to treat minor problems so this book was a great find for me to add to my collection of herb books I also know a great herbalist to go to for advise and I liked that in the introduction of Herbal Remedies A Z the book recommended that a good herbalist for expert advice was a wise person to know if you choose to use herbs I have always thought of herbs as preventative measures but I still have regular check ups and follow my doctor's advice when a health problem needs attention This book is not a replacement for seeking medical advice when it is needed

This is a handy reference material if you are interested enough to make your own homemade cure for the common aches and pains The ingredients for these treatments are easily found in the kitchen or from a uick trip to the supermarket However I would appreciate this if it was written with a much solid structure As it is there is only an alphabetical guide of the herbs used Whatever description or uses of it is described in pharagraph forms I feel that recipes instructions or characteristic should at least be in bullet points to effectively convey an herb's characteristics or uses at a glance

Not badThis was a mildly interesting book but a bit limited in its advice and descriptions of what several of the herbs are good for For instance I know slippery elm is also good in a lozenge or tes for the throat but that is not mentioned
